The Kiwanis Club of Alexandria, VA Foundation offers scholarships to graduating Key Club members each year. You must be matriculating to an accredited college or university for the school year 2020-2021.
The following scholarships are available:
• Charles Higginbotham, Jr Scholarship(s). Scholarships available for colleges and university within Virginia. Mr. Higginbotham (1935-2009) was a Distinguished Kiwanian for over 25years and recognized for his contributions to the Alexandria community and the Alexandria Kiwanis Club, distinguishing himself as the Club Treasurer for many years. In his professional life, he was the City of Alexandria’s health inspector.
• Carne-Pattie-Bribiesca Scholarship(s). Scholarships available for any college and university. Endowed by William Carne (1920-1992), he was a distinguished Kiwanian and Club Secretary of over 24 years, an employee of the Alexandria Gazette, veteran of WW II, and announced basketball games for the Alexandria high schools. Edward Pattie (1914-1988) managed the Old Town Safeway. Roberto Bribiesca (1909-1984), a long-time Alexandria businessman, and operated the King Street Camera Shop.
Scholarship selection is based on the applicant’s service leadership, need, and scholarship.
All Key Club students at T.C. Williams, Edison, and R.E. Lee High Schools are eligible to apply. The deadline to submit this scholarship application is April 30, 2020.
